At&t internet speeds keep getting slower and slower?

I’m still using the same plan I was two years ago and every month it gets noticeably slower. I used to be able to watch youtube videos at 720p without buffering, and now I can’t watch 360p without sitting through buffering every 2 seconds of video. Web pages are slowing up slower, and downloads take ages. My download rate sits between 30kbps and 250kbps, depending on the host of the download.

Nobody is using my internet, I don’t have any viruses (I have Malwarebytes and spybot, which I update and run full scans often), I have plenty of room on my computer, I’ve got 5 green bars from my wireless router (Note that plugging into the router hardly increases the speed), and the only thing I’ve really done is watch videos and chat using the internet. I don’t download a bunch of junk regularly or any other stuff that might slow down my computer.

So are there any ideas what’s going on? I’m seriously considering switching because these internet speeds are garbage. I’ve gone on speedtest.net and it says my speed is WAY slower than the average.

Thanks for any help =)

if you are talking about actually having regular internet through them, ur nuts get verizon fios, i had comcast and fios = way faster and better service, plus if they screw you by accident you get major comps. but if you are talking about the internet on your phone, you may need to take it to a tech agent and have them check or simply upgrade your phone. Also if it’s regular at home internet through a modem and not a wifi card that attaches to your lap top you may need to bring it back and get a new one, it may be on it’s way out or they may have simply upgraded their equipment. if not, then def switch.

Velox is correct. No matter how they try, AT&T is still using phonelines. Telephone lines still can only hold so much.
