I’m starting a niche natural/eco-friendly ecommerce business and would like to use a green hosting company. I orginally was looking at using Yahoo’s Small Business ecommerce solution simply because it’s easy and everything is right “out of the box” plus it seems like a great way to get started with an ecommerce biz fairly easily. The only problem is their hosting isn’t ecofriendly or “green”. I would love to have a “green” web host since this goes along with my business and plus I don’t want to be wasting energy. So my question is really two fold, 1) CAN I use a green” hosting service while at the same time using Yahoo’s ecommerce solution 2) Which green hosting service is best?
Chosen Answer:
I dont know any “green” web hosting service, but I can give you tips to find some of the good web hosting sites, such as finding a cheap web hosting company that offers you all the same things as some of the more expensive ones if you take the time to compare and shop around.
The key is to locate one that provides you with the exact mix of features you need while at the same time giving you a good price. If you’re looking for a way to get started quickly and cheaply then look for a web hosting provider that has simple plans and cheap pricing.
Also, see what steps the web hosting provider has taken to ensure that they are reliable and that if they have a problem it will be corrected quickly. This means that you should look for things such as redundancy in their equipment.
Hope this helps…
